Go for It, Nakamura! TV Anime Arrives with Same-Day English Dub!

The highly anticipated Go for It, Nakamura! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) TV anime is getting ready to hit screens this Wednesday (April 1, 2026). However, the big news is that the series will be available with an English dub on the same day as its Japanese broadcast. This "simuldub" option, which will be streamed via Crunchyroll, will allow international fans to watch the series in their own language without any delay.
The English dub cast features Nasim Benelkour as Nakamura and Patrick Pedraza as Hirose. Additionally, experienced voice actors such as Emi Lo (Hamaoka) and Morgan Berry (Kana) have joined the cast. Aoi Umeki (Pop Team Epic) is handling the series direction, screenplay, and character designs, while the animation is being produced by Studio Drive. This project reflects a rare and creative vision where Umeki takes on the roles of director, screenwriter, and designer simultaneously.
The original manga, created by Syundei, combines 80s retro aesthetics with a modern romantic comedy. The story revolves around Okuto Nakamura, who is head over heels in love with his classmate Aiki Hirose but struggles to even speak to him due to his extreme shyness. The series, which began in Opera magazine in 2014, quickly became a cult classic with its nostalgic art style and sincere storytelling. The success of the series also led to a sequel manga titled Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!, which began in 2017.
The anime adaptation was originally planned for 2025 but was delayed to 2026 due to production processes. Expected to consist of 5 episodes in total, the series will have a tight pace similar to an OVA. Fans are particularly looking forward to the ending sequences, which will feature a different nostalgic Showa or Heisei era song in each episode. If you are looking for a sweet love story with a touch of nostalgia, we recommend you do not miss this adventure starting this Wednesday.
