The first season aired in 2018; Grand Blue is adapted from the popular manga by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka. The second season premiered in 2023, and the series quickly built a cult following with its humor and diving-themed scenes. While the manga is still ongoing, which manga chapters the third season will cover is a matter of curiosity.
Directed again by Shinji Takamatsu, the new season is animated by Zero-G studio. The fact that screenwriter Kenji Inoue is also the original author of the series gives confidence in the adaptation's faithfulness. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what happens to Iori, Kohei, and other characters, especially after the events at the end of the second season.
Grand Blue is a comedy series about university life and the crazy fun of the diving club. Exaggerated expressions, alcohol-filled parties, and intertwined friendships are staples of the series. In the new season, these dynamics are expected to deepen, and new characters are expected to join the familiar faces. Get ready for this fun journey that will leave its mark on the summer months, starting with the first episode on July 6.
