Eri Thanks Her Heroes as an Adult: A New Anime Short Film from My Hero Academia
An emotional surprise has arrived for My Hero Academia fans. The new short film “I am a Hero Too”, screened at Anime Expo, brings the adult version of Eri, one of the series' beloved characters, to the screen. The short film takes place years after the school festival concert in Season 4 (Jirou’s performance) and features a scene where an adult Eri thanks the heroes who once saved her.
Eri is one of the most poignant side characters in My Hero Academia. The trauma she experienced during the Overhaul arc and her subsequent liberation thanks to heroes like Deku, Aizawa, and Mirio remain among the most unforgettable moments of the series. The new short film gives fans a complete “end of the journey” feeling as Eri confronts her past and shows her current strong and grateful self. The seiyuu who voiced Eri in the original Japanese cast has reprised her role.
This short film demonstrates how much the My Hero Academia universe, created by Kohei Horikoshi, has expanded.
