Hetalia Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary with a Massive Event: New Footage and Voice Cast on the Way!

Hetalia, one of the most established and beloved series in the anime and manga world, has reached a major milestone. It has been announced that a special event will be held on August 16th at the Kawaguchi Comprehensive Cultural Center Lilia in Saitama to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series created by Hidekaz Himaruya. Titled "Hetalia World★Stars Anniversary Party," this organization promises to be an unforgettable gathering for the series' loyal fanbase.
One of the most notable aspects of the event is that the full cast of voice actors who bring the series' eight iconic main characters to life will be taking the stage. Led by Daisuke Namikawa, who voices Italy, the event will feature Hiroki Yasumoto (Germany), Hiroki Takahashi (Japan), Katsuyuki Konishi (America), Noriaki Sugiyama (UK), Masaya Onosaka (France), Yasuhiro Takato (Russia), and Yuki Kaida (China). The reunion of this massive cast after so many years proves once again how strong the series' influence on its community remains.
The Hetalia series began its journey in 2006 as a webcomic and quickly turned into a global phenomenon with its unique sense of humor that depicts world countries in human form. Increasing its popularity with anime adaptations produced by Studio DEEN, the series most recently returned to screens in 2021 with Hetalia World★Stars. Addressing historical events and cultural stereotypes with a fun approach, Hidekaz Himaruya has transformed during this process not only into a manga artist but also into a community leader whom fans affectionately call "Himapapa."
The biggest surprise awaiting fans at the celebration event is the new footage that will be shown regarding the series. Whether this footage belongs to a new anime season, an OVA project, or a special anniversary video remains a mystery. However, this news, shared at such an important threshold as the 20th anniversary, is the most concrete indicator that the Hetalia universe is still alive and continuing to expand. Fans are expecting to receive much more concrete clues about the future of the series at this major gathering in August.
