Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 Brings Back Fate/stay Night Collaboration with Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh

Honkai: Star Rail version 4.4 announced the second wave of its major collaboration with Fate/stay Night. According to Anime Corner, this update will add iconic characters Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh as playable units. Previously featuring only Saber (Artoria Pendragon), the collaboration now expands with two new faces.
As you recall, this crossover collaboration between HoYoverse and Type-Moon was first announced in early 2025 and generated significant buzz. The first wave included Saber along with some weapons and costumes, but fans especially noted the absence of Rin and Gilgamesh. The 4.4 update fills that gap. Both characters will join the Astral Express crew and participate in battles with their unique skill sets.
According to earlier statements by HoYoverse, the collaboration will not be limited to characters. Special events, a new story chapter, and weapon and item sets inspired by the Fate universe await players. Rin Tohsaka's jewel magic and Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon ability have been adapted to Honkai: Star Rail's combat system. Players will be able to obtain these characters through a limited-time special banner.
This second wave of collaboration stands out as one of the largest third-party partnerships since Honkai: Star Rail's global launch. HoYoverse, which has previously done similar crossover events in HI3 (Honkai Impact 3rd), aims to please both its existing player base and attract Fate fans by bringing the universal appeal of the Fate series into its game. Although the release date for the update has not been finalized, details are expected to be shared in an official livestream in the coming months.
