How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Gets Season 3 Approval: Diablo is Returning!

The journey is not over yet for the strongest, yet socially most awkward Demon Lord of the isekai world, Diablo! According to the official announcement, work on the 3rd season of the popular anime series How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord (Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu) has officially begun. The full title of the new season has been announced as How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord ULT. This exciting news was crowned with a special celebratory visual drawn by the series' original light novel illustrator, Takahiro Tsurusaki.
Looking at the history of the series, we see that the first season was produced by Ajia-do studio in 2018, and the second season (Omega) was released in 2021 in a collaboration between Tezuka Productions and Okuruto Noboru. Coming after a five-year hiatus, this new season approval came as a huge surprise to the series' loyal fanbase. The light novel series, written by Yukiya Murasaki, has reached 14 volumes so far and has become one of the most popular examples of the isekai genre, selling over 4 million copies worldwide.
Familiar names remain in the voice cast. Masaaki Mizunaka will once again bring the charismatic yet shy Diablo character to life, while Yu Serizawa (Shera L. Greenwood) and Azumi Waki (Rem Galleu) will continue to accompany him. The story of the new season will cover the later volumes of the light novel and will bring to the screen the new enemies and comedic situations Diablo encounters while trying to maintain his self-created "Demon Lord" persona. The ULT suffix, in particular, signals that the action and stakes will be much higher this season.
Although no official information has been shared yet regarding a specific release date or a change in studio, the production team is expected to provide new trailers and details in the coming months. How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is known not only as a power fantasy but also for its humorous depiction of the main character's struggle to cope with social anxiety. If you have missed the adventures of the trio Diablo, Shera, and Rem, you can be sure that this new season will bring a breath of fresh air to the isekai world.
