Becoming Invisible in a Zombie World: First Trailer and Cast Details Released for "I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies" Anime

The wait for the anime I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies (known in Japanese as Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai), which brings a quite different and provocative perspective to zombie-themed productions, has been extended slightly. According to the official announcement, the series, which was initially planned to be released in 2026, has been postponed to January. Along with this delay news, a teaser trailer was shared to console fans, and the main voice cast and technical team of the series were revealed.
In the lead role, Wataru Katō, known for his successful performances in recent times, will bring the character Yusuke Takemura, who tries to understand why zombies do not attack him, to life. He will be joined by Yuno Azuma in the role of Mitsuki Tokiko, one of the key figures in the story. The animation production is being carried out in collaboration between the Acca effe and Frontier Engine studios. These two studios are known especially for their detailed background designs and atmospheric storytelling, which raises expectations for how this dark, zombie-filled world will be depicted.
Based on the original light novel series written by Chihiro Rokuyū and brought to life with illustrations by Kasumi Kirin, the production stands at a point quite different from classic zombie stories. The story focuses on the main character being completely ignored by zombies in an environment where the whole world has turned into zombies. The series, which was also adapted into a manga by Masuda Shoji in 2021, tells the story of the main character using this "invisibility" advantage to explore his relationships with other survivors and his moral boundaries in this new world.
Although the zombie theme in the anime world is usually focused on pure action or horror, this series stands out more with its psychological elements and adult (seinen) themes. The premiere in January seems to be a candidate to be one of the most discussed productions of the winter season. The producers asked for patience from fans, stating that the decision to postpone was made to maximize animation quality and provide an experience faithful to the source material. More character introductions and a full-length trailer are expected in the coming months.
