First Trailer and Release Date Announced for In a World Full of Zombies I'm the Only One Who Doesn't Get Attacked Anime

The first concrete steps have been taken for the In a World Full of Zombies I'm the Only One Who Doesn't Get Attacked (Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai) anime, which brings a very different and intriguing perspective to the zombie apocalypse. With the first trailer shared through the series' official channels, it was officially announced that the production will be released in January 2027. Offering an unconventional approach to the survival genre, the series has already created great excitement among fans of the genre.
Our story revolves around Yusuke Takemura, an ordinary office worker. Waking up one morning to find the world invaded by zombies, Yusuke soon realizes a strange situation: the zombies do not attack him, and in fact, they completely ignore him. Using this unique advantage, our hero will try to survive in the midst of a collapsing civilization while forming interesting and sometimes controversial relationships with other survivors. The original light novel series, written by Rokuro Masuda and brought to life with illustrations by Sabu, had previously reached a wide audience by being adapted into a manga by Chihiro Kirarazaka.
The anime's voice cast features experienced names from the industry. The main character Yusuke Takemura will be voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi, whom we know from the Re:Zero series, while Sayumi Watabe will accompany him as the character Mitsuki Fujino. The production studio is Seven Arcs. The released trailer successfully reflects both the suspenseful atmosphere of the series and its character-driven narrative. In particular, the idea of a main character who walks comfortably among zombies without any fear seems to be a candidate to break classic zombie clichés.
This announcement is of great importance, especially for fans who love the 'seinen' and 'survival' genres. The fact that the original work deals with adult themes and moral gray areas raises curiosity about how faithfully the anime will bring these elements to the screen. Expected to be one of the most talked-about productions of the January 2027 season, the series could bring a fresh breath to the zombie genre. Further details regarding new character introductions and the technical team are expected to be shared in the coming months.
