Ryōhei Kimura Joins the Cast of Original Anime "Inherit the Winds"

Original anime projects are always exciting, and "Inherit the Winds" falls right into that category. According to Anime News Network, renowned voice actor Ryōhei Kimura (Hajime Iwaizumi, Fahrer, 86—Eighty Six) has joined the series. He will be voicing Nagakura Shinpachi, one of the famous members of the Shinsengumi. The anime is set to begin airing in January 2027.
This production is already sparking curiosity as it promises a completely original story. While there are not many details available yet regarding the production team and studio, original anime projects are often brought to life by major production companies or experienced directors. In the past, similar works (such as "Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song" or "Sonny Boy") have created high expectations in terms of both visuals and storytelling.
Ryōhei Kimura's previous roles include major titles such as "Haikyuu!!" and "Kimetsu no Yaiba". The character of Nagakura Shinpachi is a historical figure: known as the captain of the third unit of the Shinsengumi, this samurai will be brought to life in the anime world once again after centuries. It has not yet been announced whether the story will proceed with historical elements or a fantasy interpretation, but being an original anime shows that it is open to surprises.
For anime fans, this news marks one of the notable titles for the 2027 winter season. The trailer, visual teasers, and other cast members are expected to be announced in the coming months. We will be able to provide a more comprehensive review as the story details and streaming platform for "Inherit the Winds" are clarified. Stay tuned!
