Iron Wok Jan! Anime's New Trailer and Release Date Announced: Starting July 5
Iron Wok Jan! anime is getting its long-awaited first full TV adaptation. With the release of the main trailer and new visual, it was announced that the series will premiere on July 5, 2025. Furthermore, it was revealed that famous voice actor Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama, Re:Zero) will voice the legendary chef XO Sauce Ryu.
The original manga written by Saiji Saijō was published in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1997 to 2001. The story, focused on Chinese cuisine, follows the young prodigy chef Jan Akiyama as he challenges his rivals with his wok techniques. Although a two-episode OVA adaptation was made in 2000, this production serves as the series' first long-running TV anime series.
In the trailer, Jan's fast wok movements and breathtaking cooking scenes stand out, while the mysterious and powerful presence of XO Sauce Ryu, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, draws attention. Additionally, according to Japanese news site Natalie, a behind-the-scenes video titled 'Main PV (Ura ver.)' was also released. This video features a fun segment where Jan's master Ōtani comments on Jan.
