Japanese Drama "Tonight I Meet the Serial Killer" Announces New Cast

Yamazaki Hirona, Okuno Sou, Toda Masahiro, and Kurabu Reia form the new cast of the Japanese drama "Tonight I Meet the Serial Killer" (今夜もシリアルキラーと待ち合わせ), based on the manga of the same name by Iguchi Kon and Nakamura Yuji. The announcement was made via Natalie Comics, indicating that the project is progressing excitingly.
This thriller-romance series follows a young woman leading an ordinary life who meets a man carrying a dark secret. The manga was first published digitally in 2021 and quickly gained significant attention. The story masterfully blends crime and psychological elements, surprising readers at every page. It was previously rumored that names like Matsumoto Wakana and Yoshizawa Ryo were being considered for the lead roles, but the official announcement has not yet given clear information about the full cast.
Among the new cast members, Yamazaki Hirona is known for her performances in "Kamen Rider: Battride War" and various theater plays; Okuno Sou reached a wide audience with his role in the "Kamen Rider Ex-Aid" series. Experienced actor Toda Masahiro is known for his roles in films such as "13 Assassins". The young talent Kurabu Reia is also a name that has recently attracted attention. This cast shows that the drama is equipped with talents capable of carrying both comedic and thriller tones.
Although the release date of the drama has not yet been finalized, filming is expected to start within this year and air in the first half of 2025. The production company stated, "We have formed a cast that will add depth to the characters while maintaining the dark atmosphere of the series. It will be an adaptation that meets the expectations of fans of the original manga."
