Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Title and Director Announced: Second Act of Culling Games Coming
Jujutsu Kaisen fans have exciting news: The fourth season of the series has been officially announced! The new season's title is "Culling Games: Part Two" (Japanese: "Shitai Kaiyuu Kōhen") and a teaser trailer has been released. The trailer was shared via the series' official website and social media accounts.
The director of this season will be Satoshi Sato, who served as assistant director for the third season. Sato previously worked as a unit director on the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film, making him very familiar with the series' visual language. Last season's director, Goson Shiota, is not involved in this project. Sato's appointment was a change eagerly anticipated by fans.
Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. The manga began in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018 and has now sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The first season aired in 2020, the second season (Inevitable Progress / Shibuya Incident) in 2023. The third season, "Culling Games: Part One", arrived in 2024. The fourth season will adapt the continuation of the Culling Game arc from the manga.
The teaser trailer shows main characters like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo, as well as new enemies and terrifying sorcerers. Especially as Kenjaku's plans reach their peak, this section will be filled with action and drama. The release date has not yet been announced, but industry sources point to late 2025 or early 2026. Studio MAPPA, known for productions like Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan: Final Season, seems to maintain the series' visual quality in this season as well.
This announcement carries great significance especially for manga readers. The Culling Game arc is one of the story's most complex and bloody parts.
