Tomokazu Seki Joins the Cast of Kagurabachi Anime: Visual and Trailer for Kunishige Rokuhira Released
Kagurabachi anime has seen an exciting development. Official sources announced that renowned voice actor Tomokazu Seki will bring to life Kunishige Rokuhira, one of the most important characters of the series. At the same time, the first visual and a short trailer of the character were shared with fans. The anime will air in April 2025.
Tomokazu Seki is known in the anime world for iconic roles such as Gilgamesh (Fate/stay night), Shirō Emiya (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works – adult version), and Yūji Kazami (Grisaia no Kajitsu). Kunishige Rokuhira is the father of the series' main character Chihiro Rokuhira and a legendary swordsmith. Manga readers are well aware of Kunishige's critical role in the story; therefore, the casting choice is considered to be of great importance for the emotional depth of the story.
As a reminder, Kagurabachi is a manga written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono, published in Shonen Jump magazine since 2023. With its first chapter, the series made a huge splash, reaching millions of readers both in Japan and internationally in a short time. The story follows young Chihiro as he sets out for revenge after his father's death. This world, filled with sword forging art and mystical powers, has managed to attract action enthusiasts.
Although the studio responsible for the animation has not been officially announced yet, from previously released trailers and visuals, it is understood that the project has a high budget. In the newly released visual of Kunishige, the character's calm but strong stance and detailed outfit design stand out. The trailer offers a brief glimpse into the bond between Kunishige and Chihiro, as well as some fight scenes.
The Kagurabachi anime is expected to start in April 2025. Although the full cast and streaming platform (likely Crunchyroll or Netflix) have not been announced yet, the addition of a name like Tomokazu Seki to the cast gives positive signals about the quality of the production.
