Kagurabachi Anime is Coming to Crunchyroll: The Voice Actor for Togo Shiba Has Been Revealed!

The long-awaited news regarding the Kagurabachi anime, which has taken the Weekly Shonen Jump world by storm and turned into a phenomenon in a short time, has finally arrived! According to the official announcement, the anime adaptation of the series will meet audiences worldwide (excluding Japan, China, and Korea) via the Crunchyroll platform. This global distribution move is great news for the series' already massive international fanbase.
One of the most exciting details of the news is the new name joining the voice cast. The veteran sorcerer Togo Shiba, one of the key characters in the series, will be voiced by master voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi, whom we know from his roles as Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer and Laxus in Fairy Tail. In his statement about the character, Konishi noted that while Shiba may appear carefree on the outside, he possesses an unshakable strength and a deep character within. The artist added that taking on this role is a "dream come true" for him.
A very ambitious team is behind the technical production of the anime. The production, prepared by Studio Cypic (formerly known as Cygames Pictures), is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his action scenes in works such as Sword Art Online II and Heavenly Delusion. Character designs are entrusted to Keigo Sasaki, whom we know from Blue Exorcist and The Seven Deadly Sins. Our lead character, Chihiro Rokuhira, is voiced by Taihi Kimura, who won the Best New Actor award at the 2025 Seiyu Awards.
Created by Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi became popular as a "meme" on the internet when it began publication in September 2023, but it quickly broke that perception with its story quality and artwork, turning into a true success story. The manga, which has sold over 4 million copies so far, also won first place at the 2024 Next Manga Awards. The series, which follows the bloody journey of Chihiro, who wants to avenge his father and reclaim the stolen enchanted swords, will say hello to screens in April 2027. However, fans may not have to wait that long; as part of the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour starting in the summer of 2026, a 20-minute portion of the first episode will be previewed at major anime events around the world.
