Kagurabachi TV Anime Officially Announced: Chihiro Rokuhira Comes to Screens in 2027!

The long-awaited news has finally arrived! Kagurabachi, written by Takeru Hokazono and having quickly become a global phenomenon, is officially being adapted into a TV anime. The series, which will begin airing in April 2027, will be brought to life by the studio Cypic (formerly known as CygamesPictures). The lead character, Chihiro Rokuhira, will be voiced by young talent Taihi Kimura.
Starting its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in September 2023, Kagurabachi created a massive buzz on the internet from its very first chapters. The series, which reached number one on the Manga Plus platform by surpassing giants like One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen, was initially seen as an internet "meme," but it quickly proved its worth with its deep story and impressive artwork. This dark revenge tale created by Takeru Hokazono has brought a breath of fresh air to the modern shonen genre.
The story revolves around Chihiro Rokuhira, the son of a legendary swordsmith. After his father is murdered and six enchanted blades are stolen, Chihiro vows revenge and goes after the sorcerer group known as the Hishaku. The Cypic studio, which is handling the animation for the series, is known for its high production quality in previous projects such as Princess Connect! Re:Dive and The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls U149. The long production period leading up to 2027 has raised expectations among fans that the action scenes will be presented with top-tier visuals.
The first teaser video and visual shared so far successfully reflect the dark atmosphere of the series. For Kagurabachi fans, this announcement marks the crowning achievement of the manga's success. More details regarding the rest of the voice cast and technical staff are expected to be shared in the coming months. We shall see if Chihiro's journey of revenge can stir up as big a storm in the anime world as it did on the pages of the manga.
