New Trailer for Kore Kaite Shine Anime: Release Date and Opening Theme Revealed!

Considered one of the most heartfelt love letters written to the world of manga, Kore Kaite Shine (Draw and Die) is preparing to step into the anime world. Adapted from Minoru Toyoda's highly acclaimed award-winning manga, the television anime will begin airing in Japan on July 3, 2026. The series, which will meet audiences during Nippon TV's popular "Friday Anime Night" (Furaani) block, will bring the both painful and fascinating world of the manga creation process to the screen.
The newly released promotional video (PV) for the anime offers exciting clues about the creative journey of our protagonist Ai Yasumi and her friends. One of the most striking elements in the video is the opening theme song. Famous artist Tatsuya Kitani, known for works such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach, has prepared a new song titled "Isho" (Will/Testament) for the anime. In his statement regarding the song, Kitani emphasized the deep meaning he attributed to the spirit of the work, stating that creativity is actually a "will" that an artist constantly updates as long as they are alive.
The story centers on Ai Yasumi, a high school student living on Izu Oshima island, far from Tokyo. Passionate about reading manga, Ai decides to produce her own work after being inspired by a former manga artist she encounters by chance. The production, prepared by Shin-Ei Animation studio, is directed by Hiroaki Akagi, who has signed off on successful works such as Teasing Master Takagi-san and The Dangers in My Heart. The voice cast includes Akira Sekine (Ai Yasumi), Saori Hayami (Rei Teshima), and Inori Minase (Hikaru Sekiryū).
