Kusunoki's Flunking Her High School Glow-Up Series Gets Anime Adaptation
One of the beloved series in the manga world, Kusunoki's Flunking Her High School Glow-Up, is officially getting an anime adaptation. According to Anime News Network, this news, previously only circulating as fan theories, was confirmed with an official announcement on July 23, 2026.
The studios handling the anime production are Passione (High School DxD Hero) and Hayabusa Film. The voice cast includes Tomori Kusunoki (Re:Zero, Love Live! Sunshine!!), who brings the main character Kusunoki to life, and Yūto Uemura (Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man), who voices the other lead. The chemistry between this duo is perfectly suited to bring the series' romantic comedy tone to the screen.
The manga first began publication in 2022 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform. Written by Natsumi Aikawa, the story follows Kusunoki, a shy and failing new high school student, as she struggles to transform into a confident, popular young girl.
