Big Surprise in Liar Game Anime: The Voice Actor for Yūji Fukunaga Has Been Revealed!

An exciting development has occurred in the anime adaptation of Liar Game, considered one of the pinnacles of the psychological thriller genre. With the 5th episode of the series, the master of manipulation, Yūji Fukunaga, a character long awaited by fans, finally met the audience. The name voicing the character was the talented voice actor Yō Taichi, who has actually been part of the cast since the beginning of the series but appeared with a different identity. This casting decision is described as a surprise parallel to the character's mysterious nature in the story.
Yō Taichi had previously given life to the character of Hitomi Miyahara in earlier episodes of the series. However, with the big turning point in episode 5, it was revealed that Miyahara was actually Yūji Fukunaga in disguise. Taichi's wide range of voices for both female and male characters is a very accurate choice to reflect Fukunaga's cunning, changeable, and theatrical nature. The artist had previously established a strong presence in the anime world with important roles such as Akane Sawatari in Chainsaw Man and Kenya Kobayashi in ERASED.
The legendary manga written by Shinobu Kaitani and serialized in Weekly Young Jump magazine between 2005 and 2015, meets modern audiences with this new anime adaptation that began in 2026. Produced by Madhouse studio (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Kaiji), the production has been attracting attention with its high production quality since its premiere on April 7, 2026.
