LIAR GAME fans have exciting developments! The highly anticipated trailer and key visual for the second part of the anime adaptation based on Shinobu Kaitani's famous manga have finally been released. At the same time, the new theme songs and the names joining the voice cast have also been announced.
According to Anime Corner, the released trailer hints at more complex psychological games and betrayals to come in the second half of LIAR GAME. The visual features the series' main heroine Nao Kanzaki and her mysterious rival Shinichi Akiyama. Although it is not yet clear which artists will perform the new theme songs, the publishing company is expected to share this information soon.
As a reminder, LIAR GAME was first serialized in Weekly Young Jump magazine between 2005 and 2015, and follows Nao, a naive university student, as she participates in a mysterious game. In this game, participants try to win large sums of money by deceiving each other. The manga previously had a successful live-action drama and film adaptation. The new anime project was announced in 2024, and its first part was released a few months ago.
Details about the new voice cast have also created excitement. The trailer briefly showed who will voice the new characters that will play important roles in the second half of the series. Fans were particularly eager to know the voice actors for the main characters; in the first part, Miyuki Sawashiro voiced Nao and Mamoru Miyano voiced Akiyama, receiving great acclaim. The new additions to the cast in the upcoming episodes are said to be of similar quality.
So when will this second part be released? Although no official date has been announced, the trailer's release suggests that the series is expected to air in the first quarter of 2025. LIAR GAME is considered one of the most important works of its genre for its acting, cleverly crafted traps, and psychological depth. The new episodes are expected to focus on the most striking moments known to manga readers and make the series unforgettable for anime viewers.
