Three New Cast Members Join Ochitara Owari Live-Action Adaptation, Release Date July 1

The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Ochitara Owari has added three new cast members. According to Anime News Network, Aimi Satsukawa, Kei Fubuki, and Sarina Suzuki will play the 'other mothers' in the series. The production will premiere in Japan on July 1, 2026.
It was previously announced that the lead role would be played by Marika Matsumoto. The story follows the mother character portrayed by Matsumoto and her daughter as they end up in a sinister school, familiar to manga readers. With the new additions, it is anticipated that the maternal figures in the series will diversify and the tension will intensify.
Ryouma Suzuki's horror manga of the same name began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in 2022. With a title that means 'if you fall, it's over', the series quickly gained popularity, especially among fans of psychological horror. Four volumes have been released so far, and the manga has garnered an international readership both in Japan and on digital platforms.
It was announced months ago that the director of the live-action adaptation is Takashi Shimizu (creator of the famous Ju-On series). Shimizu's involvement is seen as a sign that the dark atmosphere of the series will remain faithful to the manga. It is reported that filming is largely complete and the series is in post-production.
Detailed information about the identities and characters of the new cast members has not yet been shared, but the studio plans to release a promotional trailer in the coming weeks. The series will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliated digital platforms in Japan. It is not yet clear which platform will stream it in Turkey. Ochitara Owari is poised to be one of the most exciting productions of this summer for fans.
