TV Anime and New Film Announced for Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jōgakuin

Hasu no Sora Jōgakuin School Idol Club, one of the most innovative and technology-focused projects in the Love Live! series, has announced a massive expansion that has fans excited. According to the official announcement, the project's highly anticipated TV anime adaptation will meet audiences in 2027. However, before this long wait, a big surprise awaits fans of the series in theaters; a 3D anime film titled Bloom Garden Party will be released in Japan on May 8th.
This announcement represents a significant turning point in the project's development. The Bloom Garden Party film will bring the group's characteristic features and mesmerizing stage performances to the big screen using modern 3D animation techniques. Aiming to elevate the virtual concert experience to a cinematic dimension, this film will offer a great opportunity to delve into the depths of the characters before the main series in 2027. The producers state that they are quite ambitious about the visual quality of the film.
Looking at the history of the Hasu no Sora project, we see that it follows a different path from other Love Live! productions. First launched in April 2023 via the mobile app Link! Like! Love Live!, the project is set in a historic school located in Kanazawa city, Ishikawa Prefecture. The group, consisting of units such as Cerise Bouquet, DOLLCHESTRA, and Mira-Pa Park!, has taken the concept of "virtual school idol" to a new level by staying in constant interaction with their fans through real-time broadcasts and virtual concerts.
These new announcements prove once again how much importance the Love Live! brand places on hybrid projects that combine the digital and physical worlds, rather than being limited to traditional anime series. While the 2027 TV anime will bring the project's storytelling to a wider audience, the 3D film will push the boundaries of technical capacity. For followers of the series, the next few years seem to be a very busy period where they will witness the rise of these talented girls from Kanazawa.
