Release Date Announced for Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky Anime: Starting in July!

The countdown has begun for the highly anticipated romantic drama anime Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky (known in Japanese as Tōmei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi o Shita)! According to the official announcement and the newly released trailer, the series will premiere in Japan on July 6, 2026. Along with the new trailer, the ending theme song titled "Hikari," performed by Yui Sakurai of the group FRUITS ZIPPER, was also unveiled for fans for the first time.
The story follows the touching relationship between Kakeru Sorano, a first-year university student, and Koharu Fuyutsuki, a visually impaired young girl. While Kakeru is an introverted character who has isolated himself from his social circle, Koharu is someone who looks at life with joy despite her visual impairment, and her biggest dream is to "see" fireworks. Their paths cross by chance on a spring evening, and as Kakeru picks up Koharu's white cane from the ground, the distance between them begins to close rapidly. This encounter will fundamentally change the worlds of both characters.
The production team and voice cast behind the anime are also quite remarkable. Produced by Studio MAKARIA, the series is directed by Joe Yoshizaki, with the series composition and screenplay written by Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries, Orange). The voice cast features stars of the anime world: Saori Hayami (Koharu) and Miyu Irino (Kakeru) share the lead roles, accompanied by Konomi Kohara (Yuuko Hayase) and Yohei Azakami (Ushio Narumi). In a statement regarding the recording process, lead actress Saori Hayami mentioned that the team had a lot of fun during dubbing and expressed her hope that viewers would enjoy the story.
This production is not just an ordinary love story; it is based on a highly successful light novel series that won the Grand Prize at the 15th GA Bunko Awards and placed third in the new series category of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 list. The original work, written by Nanigashi Shima and illustrated by raemz, already has a large fan base due to its emotional depth and character development. Standing out as one of the must-watch titles for romance and drama lovers this summer season, the anime will present viewers with the story of two souls searching for the light.
