New Trailer and Release Date Announced for Tōmei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi o Shita Anime

The long-awaited news for fans of Tōmei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi o Shita. (shortened as KakeKoi) has finally arrived! The official team for the series announced that the anime will premiere on July 6, 2026, alongside the release of its second promotional video. With this new trailer, the music team that will enhance the emotional depth of the series was also unveiled. The anime's score is being composed by the renowned Japan Academy Film Prize-winning composer Harumi Fuuki, while the ending theme will be performed by Yui Sakurai, a member of the popular idol group FRUITS ZIPPER.
The story follows the touching relationship between Kakero Mano, a university student who has become detached from life due to past traumas, and Koharu Fuyutsuki, who, despite being visually impaired, is full of joy for life. The two meet by chance, and their paths cross when Kakero begins helping Koharu with her studies. Koharu's greatest dream, which is to "launch her own fireworks," becomes both a goal for Kakero and a path to salvation from the darkness within his own inner world.
This production is adapted from a prestigious light novel written by Nanigashi Shima and illustrated by raemz, which won the "Grand Prize" at the 15th GA Bunko Awards. The studio behind the anime adaptation is Makaria. Joe Yoshizaki sits in the director's chair, while the screenplay is written by Yūko Kakihara. The series has expanded into a wide range of media, not remaining just an anime, but also including a live-action series released in late 2025 and an ongoing manga adaptation.
The choices on the music side are set to elevate the series' atmosphere to its peak. Composer Harumi Fuuki is known for his mesmerizing work on productions such as The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes and Tsurune. The ending song titled "Hikari," which will be performed by Yui Sakurai, holds great significance as it marks the artist's first solo anime work. KakeKoi, which has already excited fans of the romantic drama genre, is a candidate to be one of the most ambitious productions of the 2026 summer season with its visual aesthetics and deep story.
