Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery Reveals New Cast and Theme Song in Main Trailer
The highly anticipated main trailer for Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery has been released. The new footage showcases the film's new cast members and its cinematic atmosphere. Along with the trailer, it was officially confirmed that the film's theme song is performed by Mori Calliope, with composition by the series' iconic name Kevin Penkin.
The film is the next installment in the anime series adapted from Akihito Tsukushi's Made in Abyss manga, which has been serialized since 2012. Produced by Kinema Citrus, it follows the first season in 2017, the compilation films in 2019, Dawn of the Deep Soul in 2020, and The Golden City of the Scorching Sun in 2022. Directed by Masayuki Kojima, the film also sees Hideyuki Kurata continuing his role on the series' writing team.
Scheduled for release in Japan on January 23, 2026, the film will focus on a new adventure as Riko, Reg, and Nanachi descend into the unknown layers of the Abyss.
