Magic Repo Man Anime Starts October 4, Risae Matsuda Joins Cast
The release date for the Magic Repo Man anime has been announced. According to official sources, the series will premiere in Japan on October 4, 2026. It was also announced that Risae Matsuda has joined the voice cast; however, which character she will play has not yet been revealed.
The anime is based on the Maho Repo manga created by One Punch Man artist Yūsuke Murata and screenwriter Yūsuke Watanabe. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1999–2000 and collected in two volumes. Considered Murata's first serialized work, it is regarded as an important starting point in the career of the artist who later became famous for Eyeshield 21 and One Punch Man.
The story revolves around a 'repo man' tasked with retrieving magical items involved in supernatural incidents. With its blend of humor and action, the manga drew interest from Shōnen Jump readers of the era, but it came to an end after a short-lived publication run. For this reason, the anime adaptation is a nostalgic surprise for both old readers and Murata's current fans.
