M.A.O Joins Magical Explorer Anime as Nanami — New Teaser Visual Released
The new darling of isekai and game-themed stories, Magical Explorer, is gradually preparing for its anime adaptation in fall 2025. According to today's official announcement, the voice actor bringing Nanami to life is M.A.O (Mao Ichimichi). A new teaser visual accompanied the announcement, further heightening fans' excitement.
As a reminder, Magical Explorer tells the story of an otaku protagonist who is reborn into what feels like a JRPG world and uses all his game knowledge to become a "Magic Explorer." The series, written by Igarashi Yuuji and initially published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform, quickly gained a large readership. The light novel began print publication in 2020 and drew attention in the industry with the announcement of its anime adaptation in 2024.
M.A.O is known for her roles as Ikumi Mito in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Nagisa Kashiwagi in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and Karyl in Princess Connect! Re:Dive. Although Nanami's role in the series has not been fully revealed, her elegant and mysterious stance in the teaser visual suggests she will be an important figure in the story. No official announcement has been made yet for the protagonist's voice actor, but fans are hoping for Kaito Ishikawa or a similar name.
While the production studio and director lineup are still awaiting announcement, the broadcast period starting in fall 2025 is seen as one of the most ambitious projects in the isekai genre this year. Magical Explorer is expected to please both light novel fans and fans of game-themed anime. New trailers and cast addition announcements are likely in the coming months.
