Magical Girl Raising Project Restart Anime to Premiere on October 5
The release date for the Magical Girl Raising Project Restart anime adaptation has been announced. The official website announced on Friday that the new anime, adapted from Asari Endō's Magical Girl Raising Project Restart light novel series, will premiere on October 5. This announcement also officially confirmed the series' return to television since its first anime adaptation in 2016.
Created by Asari Endō with illustrations by Maruino, Magical Girl Raising Project (Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku) first met readers in 2012 under KADOKAWA's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label. The series drew attention with its dark narrative that begins like an ordinary magical girl story but quickly turns into a survival struggle. The first story, adapted into an anime by Lerche in 2016, ran for 12 episodes and was remembered as one of the works that brought a new breath to the genre.
Restart offers both a continuation and, as its name suggests, a new beginning. Thus, fans of the series will once again witness a story woven around tension and game rules, replacing the innocent magical girl themes set in a high school setting.
