Manga 'Jimoto Saikō!' to Be Adapted into Anime by MAPPA Studio, Will Be Released Worldwide on Netflix

Manga world's beloved name usagi's series "Jimoto Saikō!" (meaning "The Best Local!" in Turkish) is officially getting an anime adaptation. Following the news published in Japan, it was announced that MAPPA, one of the leading studios in the industry, will handle the animation and the production will be released exclusively worldwide on Netflix.
Not hentai, but a work focused entirely on comedy and daily life, "Jimoto Saikō!" humorously depicts the unique culture, quirky characters, and local pride of a small town. The manga had drawn attention for highlighting the nostalgic and entertaining aspects of rural areas, especially in Japan. Unlike usagi's previously published popular series such as "Himouto! Umaru-chan", this time it focuses on the comedic dynamics of local people in a completely different atmosphere.
The name behind the anime adaptation, MAPPA, has made its mark with major productions such as "Jujutsu Kaisen", "Chainsaw Man" and "Attack on Titan: The Final Season" in recent years. The studio's success in both action and daily life genres shows that it is the right choice to bring a warm and entertaining story like "Jimoto Saikō!" to the screen. Meanwhile, Netflix's recent hosting of different types of anime productions such as "Dungeon Meshi" and "Pluto" once again proves the platform's commitment to anime.
Although the release date has not been announced yet, fans expect a launch in the 2025-2026 range due to MAPPA's busy production schedule. This announcement is also significant in terms of the global interest in local culture-themed content in recent years. Watching both the humor of the Japanese countryside and MAPPA's quality together with "Jimoto Saikō!" is an exciting development for anime fans. Details are expected to become clearer in the coming months.
