MAPPA Announced as Studio for 'Fall in Love, You False Angels' Anime: Director Yasutomo Okamoto

MAPPA is once again drawing attention. Alongside teaser visuals of the anime adaptation of the manga Fall in Love, You False Angels, it was announced that the studio is MAPPA and Yasutomo Okamoto will be in the director's chair. The anime is set to premiere in 2027.
The teaser was shown at an event last week and was quickly confirmed by Anime News Network. Yasutomo Okamoto is known for his directorial experience on popular works such as Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler and Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Okamoto's unique sense of humor and dynamic scene compositions signal that he will bring an exciting touch to this romantic comedy series.
Fall in Love, You False Angels is a manga originally drawn by Natsumi Eguchi and serialized in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh since 2021. The story begins when a high school student, Kaito, writes an unrealistic love letter to the popular girl Miu; however, it soon becomes clear that Miu is not the angel she appears to be. The series has gained a large readership not only in Japan but also overseas, and so far 8 tankōbon volumes have been published.
MAPPA's reputation gained in recent years with major productions such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Attack on Titan: The Final Season makes this announcement even more exciting. Despite the studio's busy schedule, the 2027 release date indicates sufficient preparation time for the project. Fans can expect MAPPA's signature quality animation and character designs under Okamoto's direction.
Although only a teaser has been released for now, details such as new character posters and voice cast are expected to be announced in the coming months. The Fall in Love, You False Angels anime seems poised to bring a fresh breath to the romantic comedy genre. Don't miss the news on our platform to follow official announcements.
