MAPPA Released First Visual for Its 15th Anniversary: Reze in the Foreground from Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc Movie

MAPPA announced the first of a special visual series prepared in honor of the studio's 15th anniversary. In the visual released in Japan, Reze from Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc is depicted walking from a dark alleyway toward the light. This visual marks the start of the studio's year-long celebration campaign.

According to Natalie, this first visual, titled “MAPPA 15th Anniversary Special Visual – Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc Version”, focuses on one of the studio's biggest productions. Recall that MAPPA was founded by Masao Maruyama in 2011; the studio has established a solid place in the anime world with major works such as the final seasons of Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Yuri!!! on Ice. The first season of Chainsaw Man made a huge debut at the end of 2022, and it was announced at the Jump Festa event in December 2023 that the Reze Arc would be adapted as a film.

While the release of the visual does not provide any hints about the film's release date, it has amplified excitement among fans. In recent years, MAPPA has also made a name for itself with productions such as Zom 100 and Hell's Paradise alongside Chainsaw Man. The studio is expected to release a new visual each month as part of its 15th anniversary celebrations. The choice of Reze for the first visual shows how high a priority the film is for the studio.

Reze is introduced in a popular chapter of Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga of the same name and stands out as one of the most complex characters in the Chainsaw Man universe. While the film adaptation does not yet have a definitive release date, it is expected to premiere within this year.
