MAPPA Shares Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Attack on Titan Illustrations Ahead of 15th Anniversary Expo
MAPPA shared new illustrations prepared for Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Attack on Titan ahead of its 15th anniversary expo. According to Anime Corner, these visuals serve as a special promotional package honoring the studio's three biggest franchises at the same time.
Founded in 2011 by Masao Maruyama, MAPPA has produced works that left their mark across different genres, such as Yuri!!! on Ice, Dorohedoro, and Kakegurui. However, the studio reached a huge global fanbase especially with Attack on Titan Final Season, which it took over from Wit Studio, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, and the Chainsaw Man adaptation. The recently shared illustrations once again highlight the place of these three series in MAPPA's history.
The 15th anniversary expo is expected to offer a wide range of content, from the studio's past production processes to concept drawings, animation materials, and exclusive merchandise. Although no official announcement has been made yet regarding the event's full program and date, the newly released visuals have already increased fans' interest in the event. As with MAPPA's previous anniversary events, it is likely that never-before-seen materials from beloved series will be exhibited at this exhibition.
The new illustrations also reflect the studio's current popularity balance. Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Attack on Titan stand out as the three main forces animated by MAPPA, having reached millions of sales worldwide on both manga and anime fronts. Gege Akutami's dark universe Jujutsu Kaisen, Tatsuki Fujimoto's wild world Chainsaw Man, and Hajime Isayama's epic saga Attack on Titan are counted among the masterpieces that demonstrate the studio's proficiency in action and character animation.
When official date and venue information about the event is shared, it will also become clear whether the visuals, which fans will see for the first time, will be made available before or after the exhibition. For now, MAPPA appears to have brought out its strongest productions to crown its 15-year journey.
