First Episode Visuals for Marriage Toxin Anime Released: The Assassin and the Con Artist's Marriage Hunt Begins

Marriage Toxin, one of the most beloved series on the Shonen Jump+ platform, is counting down the days until it makes its debut in the anime world. Written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, this action-packed marriage hunt story will hit screens on April 7, 2026, at 23:00 Japan Standard Time. The first episode visuals shared ahead of the premiere have created great excitement among fans of the series. Produced by Bones Film (a division of Studio Bones), the production appears to be one of the most ambitious works of the spring season, both in terms of visual quality and its unconventional premise.
Our story centers on Hikaru Gero, the heir to the "Poison Clan," one of the five great families that have specialized in the art of assassination for centuries. Having lived his entire life in the underworld and being a total failure at communicating with women, Gero is forced to marry to ensure the continuation of the clan. If he cannot find an heir, his sister Akari will be forced into marriage due to the clan's strict rules. Determined to save his sister from this fate, our hero forms an unexpected partnership with his assassination target, a professional marriage con artist named Mei Kinosaki. This chaotic adventure of an assassin and a con artist on a quest to find the "perfect spouse" blends action and romance in a unique way.
The anime's technical staff also consists of very strong names. Motonobu Hori, known for Carole & Tuesday and Metallic Rouge, sits in the director's chair, while Kimiko Ueno handles series composition. Character designs are entrusted to Kohei Tokuoka. In the voice cast, Haruki Ishiya brings the character Hikaru Gero to life, while Shion Wakayama voices Mei Kinosaki. Additionally, the opening theme "Kill or Kiss" will be performed by Yurina Hirate, and we will hear AKASAKI's song "Shake Na Baby" in the ending.
Since its serialization began on Shonen Jump+ on April 20, 2022, Marriage Toxin has quickly reached a wide fan base. Mizuki Yoda's dynamic art style and Joumyaku's narrative, which combines humor with action, have made the series one of the platform's most popular works. Given Studio Bones' success with action scenes, there is great curiosity about how the manga's unique energy will be reflected on screen. This "marriage hunt," which begins on April 7, promises anime fans both plenty of laughter and adrenaline-filled fight scenes.
