A New Chapter in Marriage Toxin Anime: "Sound User Arc" Begins with Naruko Visual

Marriage Toxin, one of the most notable productions on the Shonen Jump+ platform, is shifting gears in its anime adaptation. With the 5th episode of the series, a new page is turned in the story, and the highly anticipated "Sound User Arc" officially begins. To celebrate this significant development, a special "Mission Visual" featuring Genya Naruko, one of the key characters of the new arc, has been unveiled for fans.
Our story revolves around Hikaru Gero, a poison expert from a clan that has been practicing assassination for centuries. Gero decides to find a wife to prevent his sister from being forced into marriage for the sake of the clan's continuity. However, this is no easy task for an assassin with very poor social skills. At this exact point, he forms an unusual partnership with Mei Kinosaki, a marriage scammer he rescued. The manga, written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, achieved great success by exceeding 1 million copies sold in a short time with its dynamic action scenes and absurd humor.
In the anime adaptation brought to life by Bones Film (a branch of Studio Bones), character voice acting is also receiving great attention. While Haruki Ishiya (Gero) and Shion Wakayama (Kinosaki) take the lead roles, the star of the new arc, Genya Naruko, is voiced by the famous voice actor Soma Saito. The production, with Motonobu Hori in the director's chair, successfully reflects the manga's unique visual style and fast pace on screen. In particular, the creative use of abilities in fight scenes stands out as one of the biggest features that distinguish the series from its peers.
The newly started "Sound User Arc" deepens not only Gero's search for a wife but also his struggle against rivals with different assassin abilities. With Naruko's inclusion in the story, dangerous techniques using sound waves and the strategies Gero will develop against this situation will keep viewers glued to their screens. The 5th episode, "Lord Chladni," which will be released on May 5, 2026, will ignite this new struggle. Fans will be able to continue watching Gero's development both on the path to marriage and his mastery in the world of assassination.
