Excitement for the 'Water Master Arc' in Marriagetoxin Anime: New Visual and Episode Details Shared

One of the most talked-about productions of the April 2026 season, Marriagetoxin, continues to shift into higher gear after its fast-paced start. Adapted from the popular Shonen Jump+ manga, the series has successfully balanced action and romantic comedy in its first two episodes, and the producers have shared a special key visual for the next major stage of the story, the 'Water Master Arc'. This new visual opens the doors to a new era that will test not only the assassination skills of our protagonist Gero but also his social skills.
Our story centers on Hikaru Gero, the heir to a clan that has mastered the art of poison for centuries. With almost zero social skills and having spent his entire life training as an assassin, Gero must find a wife within a year to prevent his sister from being forced into an arranged marriage by clan pressure. Guiding him on this impossible mission is Mei Kinosaki, a marriage scammer and a judge of character. The dynamic between the duo carries both the humorous and emotional weight of the series, while the fight scenes, bearing the signature of Bones Film studio, offer viewers a visual feast.
Marriagetoxin was brought to life in 2022 by writer Joumyaku and artist Mizuki Yoda. The fact that artist Mizuki Yoda is a former assistant to Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami explains why the fight choreographies and character designs in the series are so sharp and impressive. The director's chair for the anime adaptation is occupied by Motonobu Hori, known for works such as Carole & Tuesday and Metallic Rouge. Director Hori describes the series as "deliberately chaotic," emphasizing that it harbors sincere character development within this chaos.
The focus of the newly released visual, Shizuku Ushio (the Water Master), appears as one of Gero's toughest rivals and potential allies on his path to marriage. Voiced by Mariya Ise, Ushio will bring a breath of fresh air to the story with her mastery over water and professional demeanor. In the series, which airs every Tuesday on Crunchyroll, watching Gero's efforts to set aside his assassin habits and go on a "normal" date looks set to continue providing the most entertaining moments of the season for fans.
