Matsurika Kanriden Anime Adaptation Unveils Kana-Boon's Song and New Voice Cast
The Matsurika Kanriden anime adaptation has announced both the theme song performed by Kana-Boon and three new cast members in a new promotional video. According to Anime News Network, the anime will begin airing in Japan in January 2027. The promotional video also shared new footage from the series accompanied by Kana-Boon's track.
Joining the voice cast are Takeo Ōtsuka, Kōtarō Nishiyama, and Shō Komura. Ōtsuka is known especially for his roles as Jinshi in The Apothecary Diaries and Aqua in Oshi no Ko. Nishiyama is known for his performances in productions such as A3!. It has not yet been announced which characters the new names will play.
Matsurika Kanriden bears the signature of Kōhei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia. This story, one of Horikoshi's early works, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2025. The manga, which has drawn great interest as Horikoshi's new long-running series following MHA's conclusion in 2024, offers a festival-themed fantasy story.
Kana-Boon had previously reached a wide fanbase with anime songs such as Silhouette from Naruto Shippuden and Fighter from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. The band's involvement in this project has increased expectations for Matsurika Kanriden's music. The anime adaptation being announced so quickly also highlights the series' position in the industry.
In the coming months, new character introductions, cast details, and more visuals are expected to be shared for the anime. Matsurika Kanriden is poised to be one of the most notable productions of 2027 for both Horikoshi fans and fantasy action enthusiasts.
