New Voice Cast Announced for Mebius Dust Anime: Douga Koubou's New Sci-Fi Adventure is Coming
Douga Koubou, the renowned animation studio known for successful works like Oshi no Ko and New Game!, continues to share exciting details about its new original anime project, Mebius Dust. According to the latest announcement from the series' official website, the new voice actors for the members of the "LAMPs" team, who play an important role in the story, have been revealed. Joining the cast are Ayato Morinaga, Reina Aoyama, and Keishi Inomata, who will bring the series' colorful world of characters to life.
The newly announced characters appear as members of a group called "LAMPs," who possess their own unique subculture obsessions, cleaning sensitivities, and "chuunibyou" (middle school second-year syndrome) traits. Ayato Morinaga will voice the group's leader and former film enthusiast Taketsune, while Reina Aoyama will bring to life Mao, a dreamer in love with the concept of love. Keishi Inomata will appear as Gengo, a fan of tokusatsu (special effects productions). These characters are expected to add a humorous and deep layer to the series' dystopian atmosphere.
Mebius Dust is a very special project that dates back to 2019. It is adapted from the story by Hajime Shinagawa, which won the grand prize in the "Children and Game" category of the Project ANIMA competition organized by DeNA, Sotsu, and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting. The story takes place 10 years after a meteor hit the Earth. The mysterious Mebius Dust particles that emerged as a result of this event caused some children to develop supernatural abilities called "Rams." However, those who possess these abilities cannot leave the town of Shinkatsushika because they need this dust to survive.
The technical staff of the series also consists of quite ambitious names. Tarou Iwasaki, whom we know from Sweetness and Lightning, sits in the director's chair, while the screenplay adaptation is handled by Yoriko Tomita, who achieved great success with My Dress-Up Darling. The music is composed by DÉ DÉ MOUSE. Mebius Dust will premiere in Japan on July 9, 2026, and looks to be one of the most notable original productions of the summer season. Blending science fiction and mystery elements with slices of daily life, the production is already on the radar of anime fans with both its visual quality and original story.
