Mebius Dust: Dōga Kōbō's New Original Anime Starts in July!

Dōga Kōbō, one of the anime world's beloved studios, has broken its silence on its highly anticipated new original project, Mebius Dust. According to the official announcement, the series will meet audiences in July 2026. The studio, known for visually stunning productions like Oshi no Ko and New Game!, invites us this time to a story set in the traditional neighborhoods of Tokyo, yet one that harbors mysterious secrets. The series stars Yuto Takenaka as Araki, Nene Hieda as Stella, and Haruka Satō as Olga.
Mebius Dust is actually part of a massive project with roots dating back to 2017. This story, which won the grand prize in the "Children and Game" category of the Project ANIMA competition organized by DeNA, Sotsu, and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, was created by Hajime Shinagawa. Following other competition winners like Sakugan and The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians (Mahō Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi), this third major project is finally coming to life. The story focuses on a world changed after meteorites that fell to Earth on February 29, 2000, emitted "Mebius Dust." The supernatural events and a mysterious "capture the flag" game hidden behind the daily routines of three high school students living seemingly ordinary lives in the Katsushika district will form the main focus of the series.
Looking at the technical staff, we see very experienced names. In the director's chair is someone we know from emotionally deep works like One Week Friends and Sweetness & Lightning.
