Dōga Kōbō's New Original Anime Mebius Dust Starts in July: First Details and Cast Announced

The famous animation studio Dōga Kōbō, known for successful productions such as Oshi no Ko and New Game!, has shared exciting details for its highly anticipated new original project Mebius Dust (Möbius Dust). According to the official announcement, the series will premiere in Japan in July 2026. This production, which won the grand prize in the "Children/Game" category of the Project ANIMA competition held in 2019, is seen as one of the studio's most ambitious original projects in recent years.
Young and talented names stand out in the series' main voice cast. Yuto Takenaka will voice Araki, a high school student living in the suburbs of Tokyo, while we will watch Nene Hieda in the role of Stella, Araki's sister and classmate. Haruka Satō will bring the character Olga, the final member of the trio of friends, to life. The production is directed by Tarou Iwasaki, known for emotionally deep works such as One Week Friends and Sweetness & Lightning, while the screenplay adaptation is handled by Yoriko Tomita, whom we know from My Dress-Up Darling.
Mebius Dust takes viewers to the aftermath of a mysterious event that occurred on February 29, 2000, referred to as "2.29". Mebius Dust (Möbius Dust), emitted by the Möbius meteors that fell to Earth, dissolved in the air and turned into a substance capable of creating miracles. However, this situation has caused the social divide to deepen and terrorist incidents to increase in Japan. The story follows young people continuing their daily lives in the Katsushika district as they get caught up in a supernatural "capture the flag" game that holds much more than meets the eye.
