Midnight Heart Tune Renewed for Season 2: The Mystery of Apollo Continues!

We continue our search for that mysterious voice between the radio waves! The long-awaited news for Midnight Heart Tune (Mayonaka Heart Tune) fans has arrived. Immediately following the season one finale in March 2026, it was announced that the series has been officially greenlit for a second season. To celebrate this exciting development, a special commemorative visual featuring the broadcasting club members running joyfully toward the sunset and a promotional video containing messages from the voice cast were released.
Written by Masakuni Igarashi (creator of the popular Senryu Girl series) and serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since September 2023, the manga quickly became one of the most notable works in the romantic comedy genre. Our story revolves around Arisu Yamabuki, who is searching for a mysterious girl who broadcasted on the radio under the nickname "Apollo" during middle school and gave him hope with her voice. Following Apollo's trail, Arisu joins his high school's broadcasting club, where he encounters four different girls, each aspiring to build a career with their voices: Iko Kirino, Nene Himekawa, Rikka Inohana, and Shinobu Uzuki.
The anime, produced by Studio Gekkou and premiered in January 2026, received full marks from viewers for both its visual quality and character depth. The team, led by director Masayuki Takahashi and screenwriter Yukie Sugawara, successfully translated Igarashi's unique art style to the screen. The series' popularity was not limited to the screen; the manga, which reached its 12th volume as of March 2026, managed to climb to the top ranks among the highest-rated harem/romantic comedy series on platforms like MyAnimeList.
So, what awaits us in the new season? Although an official release date has not yet been announced, it is certain that the second season will offer more critical clues regarding Apollo's identity and that the competition between the broadcasting club members will heat up. The entire main voice cast, consisting of star names such as Rikuya Yasuda (Arisu), Miku Ito (Shinobu), and Sayumi Suzushiro (Iko), will return for the new season. If you haven't joined this sweet mystery yet, you can catch up by watching the first 12 episodes on Crunchyroll before the second season arrives!
