First Two Episodes of Mushoku Tensei III Premiered in Tokyo with Special Screening

The first two episodes of Mushoku Tensei III: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu met fans for the first time at a preview event held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo on June 20. These two episodes, called the 'Eris Training Arc', focus on Eris's story in the new season. Before the screening, Ayai Kakuma, who voices Eris Boreas Greyrat, and Haruka Tomatsu, who voices Nina Farion, took the stage and gave the audience hints about the episodes.
Speaking at the event, Kakuma humorously compared Eris's character development to 'rock-paper-scissors': 'Eris was as hard and destructive as rock in the first season. In the second season, she turned into scissors, sharp and decisive. In the third season, we will see her more flexible and emotional side, like paper.' Tomatsu hinted that Nina, introduced in the second season, will have an expanded role and that there will be surprises related to Rudeus's past.
Mushoku Tensei is adapted from a popular web novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote. The first season aired in 2021, and the anime was turned into a visual feast by Studio Bind, gaining a huge fanbase worldwide. The second season, released in 2023, dealt with Rudeus's meeting with Subaru and his separation from Eris. The new season will focus on Eris's own swordsmanship journey, delving deeply into her strengthening process.
At the preview event, new character designs and background music were also introduced. Fans noted that the technical quality of the third season is on par with previous seasons, with even smoother animations used in battle scenes. Although an official release date has not been announced yet, this special screening is interpreted as a sign that the season will start soon. More information and announcements about the new episodes are expected in the coming weeks.
