Special Video Released for My Hero Academia's 10th Anniversary: "PLUS ULTRA MOVIE – You Can Be a Hero"

The beloved superhero anime My Hero Academia has launched a special project to celebrate its 10th anniversary. In this context, the special video titled "PLUS ULTRA MOVIE ‘You Can Be a Hero’" showcases the epic journey of the main character Izuku Midoriya (Deku) from the pages of the manga to the screen. The video progresses accompanied by the series' most well-known and beloved orchestral piece, "You Say Run".
According to Japanese news source Natalie, the video was created faithful to Kohei Horikoshi's original manga and summarizes the anime's 10-year journey. The My Hero Academia anime first aired in April 2016; this special video is seen as the first step in projects prepared for the 10th anniversary in 2026. Horikoshi's manga, which began in 2014, has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the most important works of its genre.
The most striking aspect of the special video is the use of the piece "You Say Run". This instrumental work composed by Yuki Hayashi played during the series' most critical moments, especially in the battle scene of the first season when Deku first uses his power, and has earned a special place in fans' hearts. The video shows how Deku transforms from a timid child into the leader of Class 1-A and a great hero through pivotal scenes. In short, this seven-minute visual feast offers a perfect introduction for newcomers to the series and an emotional nostalgia trip for old fans.
According to sources, the My Hero Academia 10th anniversary project will not be limited to just this video. In the coming months, special exhibitions, new merchandise, and perhaps a surprise anime special are expected. Additionally, in the time since Horikoshi's manga finale, the series continues to expand its universe with side stories and films. While fansub and translation communities are already subtitling the video, it is hoped that a Turkish-subtitled version will also be released soon on official channels. PLUS ULTRA!
