“My Husband Asked Me to Cheat” Manga Adapted into Live-Action Drama Series

If you’re looking for an unconventional marriage drama filled with moral dilemmas, Nakaya Yoshitaka’s manga “My Husband Asked Me to Cheat” (originally titled Otto ni Furin wo Onegai Saremashita) is just for you. The series recently announced a live-action TV drama adaptation via an official statement. The lead roles are played by Nakamura Yurika and Sano Reo of the group GENERATIONS.
The manga first began serialization in Comic Polaris magazine in 2021 and quickly captured readers’ attention with its bold exploration of themes like loyalty, marriage, and personal freedom. The story focuses on the emotional journey of a woman who is encouraged by her husband to have an affair with another man. Among Nakaya’s previous works are titles such as Kimi no Koto ga Mienai no de, and the author is known for psychologically deep characters.
The drama will premiere on TV Osaka on July 9, 2025, on TV Aichi on July 14, and on TV Tokyo on July 15. In the released teaser visual, the contrasting gazes of Nakamura and Sano already spark curiosity about the series’ balance of tension and romance. It has also been stated that there are some as-yet-unannounced supporting roles in the cast.
This adaptation is especially exciting for fans of the josei genre. While the manga questions the crisis of trust within marriage and social pressure, the drama version is expected to maintain the same bold narrative. Fans have already begun discussing whether the adaptation will stay faithful to the original work and how the characters will be interpreted on screen. We can expect more details in the coming days with new trailers and cast updates.
