First Episode Details and New Ame-chan Focused Trailer Released for NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE Anime!

The phenomenal indie game NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE (known in the West as NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD), which explores the dark and chaotic side of internet culture, is preparing to hit television screens. As the countdown continues for the series starting on April 4, 2026, the production team has shared the summary of the first episode, preview images, and a special promotional video titled "SECRET.PV" focusing on the main character Ame-chan.
According to the summary of the first episode, the story begins with Ame-chan's dream of becoming an "angel" in the internet world. Burning with a desire for validation, the young girl takes her first steps into streaming under the identity of OMGkawaiiAngel (Chouzetsu Saikawaii Tenshi-chan), and viewers will witness both her bright on-screen persona and her complex mental state behind the screen. Directed by Masaoki Nakashima, known for Blue Archive The Animation, the anime is being brought to life by Yostar Pictures.
The original game's writer, Nyalra, personally penned the scripts for all 13 episodes of the anime, enriching the story with new characters and perspectives. The game, which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide and has had its music streamed over 400 million times, is known for its psychological horror and simulation elements where you manage a streamer. It is stated that the anime version will preserve the "denpa" style atmosphere of the game and deeply explore the heavy mental burden brought on by internet fame.
On the visual side, a new key visual representing the two different faces of Ame-chan has been shared. The series' opening theme, "INTERNET ANGEL", is composed by Aiobahn +81, who also created the game's iconic music, while the ending song "Levitation" is performed by the famous artist Tatsuya Kitani. The anime aims to captivate not only fans of the game but all anime lovers curious about the tragicomic aspects of modern internet culture.
