The long-awaited news for Neko to Ryu (The Cat and the Dragon), an anime that tells the extraordinary and heartwarming story of a dragon raised by a cat, has finally arrived. In an announcement made on the series' official website, it was revealed that some of the most popular names in the anime world have joined the voice cast. Additionally, a second promotional video (PV) titled "Cats and Humans" and a new key visual were shared to satisfy fans' curiosity.
In the newly announced cast, Atsumi Tanezaki, who voiced the beloved character Anya in Spy x Family and the lead in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, will bring the character Gally to life. She will be joined by Chika Anzai (as Anne Rossa), known from Lycoris Recoil, and Junya Enoki (as Stan), the star of Jujutsu Kaisen. These major names will strengthen the series' atmosphere alongside the previously announced legendary artist Takehito Koyasu, who will voice the main character Nekoryu.
Neko to Ryu takes its roots from the light novel series written by Amara, which reached number one on the popular novel site Shosetsuka ni Naro. Brought to life with illustrations by Mai Okuma, the series has achieved great success by selling over 1.2 million copies worldwide. The story follows an abandoned dragon cub in a forest inhabited by wild beasts that is adopted by a mother cat and grows up with cats. This "iyashikei" (healing/soothing) fantasy world focuses on the dragon's interactions with humans and other magical creatures.
