New Ahare! Meisaku-kun Anime Date and Song Announced
A brand new anime adaptation for the long-running comedy series Ahare! Meisaku-kun is coming! The latest promotional video, released on June 19, 2026, unveiled the anime's release date and opening music. The anime will start airing in Japan on July 5, 2026.
Frederic, a popular name on the J-rock scene, will add energy to the series with the opening track "Nonsense Nonsense". The band's signature cheerful and upbeat melodies seem to be a perfect accompaniment to Meisaku-kun's absurd humor. Frederic has previously created songs for anime such as Dororo and Kokkoku.
Ahare! Meisaku-kun originally started as a short film series for Japan's educational channel NHK. The series, whose first episodes aired in 2016, later turned into a television anime. Produced by DLE Inc., the project has a parody format that takes characters from famous classic works (Meisaku) and puts them in entirely different, often nonsensical situations. For example, heroes like Don Quixote and Momotaro grapple with the absurdities of daily life.
The new anime will be a continuation of previous seasons. The first series aired 40 episodes between 2018-2019, followed by a film in 2021 and a second season in 2023. It's not yet clear whether these new episodes will retain the main cast, but it's certain that we will see new adventures of the classic characters. Fans are especially eager to see how Frederic's energetic song will fit into the series' bizarre world.
