The Legend of Fist of the North Star Continues with a Modern Face: The Second Part of the New Anime Series Arrives in 2027!

The calendar for the wait is set for fans of Fist of the North Star! There is exciting news from the Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star- project, which was launched in honor of the legendary manga series' 40th anniversary. According to the official announcement by Warner Bros. Japan, the highly anticipated second part (second cours) of the series will meet viewers in 2027. Along with the announcement, a special preview video featuring the first frames from the 15th episode and reflecting the atmosphere of the new season was also shared.
The first part of the series premiered on April 10, 2026, and concluded its season with the 14th episode, which aired on June 26, 2026. Produced by TMS Entertainment (Studio 7), this new adaptation aims to bring Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's 1983 cult masterpiece to the screen more faithfully by utilizing modern animation technologies. Hiroshi Maeda sits in the director's chair, while the music is composed by the famous composer Yuki Hayashi, known for My Hero Academia. This short break following the first season demonstrates the production team's commitment to maintaining the highest level of visual quality.
This new project is not just a remake, but also a tribute to the series' legacy. The voice cast, featuring Shunsuke Takeuchi as Kenshiro, is joined by stars such as Taiten Kusunoki as Raoh and Saori Hayami as Yuria. Furthermore, to increase the nostalgia factor, the legendary opening song of the original anime, "Ai o Torimodose!!", has been reinterpreted by the famous singer Toshl and is used as the series' closing theme. While the CGI-based animation style brings the manga's unique, gritty, and detailed drawings to modern standards, the fluidity of the fight scenes has successfully earned full marks from fans.
Hokuto no Ken is considered one of the cornerstones of the "shonen" genre and post-apocalyptic fiction in anime history. The original manga, which sold over 100 million copies, inspired a massive 152-episode anime series between 1984 and 1988. In the second part of the new series, the story is expected to become darker and more epic, with Kenshiro's confrontations with his rivals deepening. The series, which can be watched worldwide via Amazon Prime Video, will once again announce Kenshiro's iconic line, "You are already dead" (Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru), to the whole world with its return in 2027.
