New Keroro Gunso Film Meets Characters from Fukuda's Other Works

After a long hiatus, the Keroro Gunso series returns, bringing both nostalgia and a comedy-filled crossover with its new film. Officially announced as "Shin Gekijōban Keroro Gunsō: Fukkatsu shite Sokkou Chikyuu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu!" (New Theatrical Film Keroro Gunso: Resurrection and Immediately After, the Danger of Earth's Destruction!), the production will feature familiar faces from other live-action works directed by Japanese filmmaker Yuichi Fukuda.
According to Natalie, the film will include characters from Fukuda's TV drama "Yoshihiko" (The Brave Yoshihiko), the live-action film "HK/Hentai Kamen" (Pervert Mask), and the "Gintama" live-action series. This crossover promises a feast for fans of Fukuda's absurd comedy style. In particular, characters portrayed by Takayuki Yamada, known for the role of Yoshihiko, and the unforgettable faces from Gintama will add color to Keroro's space frog world.
The manga Keroro Gunso, created by Mine Yoshizaki in 1999, gained massive popularity with its anime adaptation in 2004. The series, which previously released multiple films and OVAs, released its last feature film in 2014. This new production after a decade excites old fans and brings together the fanbase of director Fukuda. Fukuda previously proved his success in manga adaptations with the "Gintama" live-action films.
Although few details about the film's plot have been revealed, the word "resurrection" in the title may hint at Keroro and his friends' renewed plans to conquer Earth. How the crossover characters will become involved in this plan is a point of curiosity. This project, directed by Yuichi Fukuda, is expected to premiere in Japan in 2025. While awaiting official announcements on the exact release date and possible international screenings, fans are eagerly following this comedic reunion.
