New Namco Collaboration for New Keroro Film: Giant Keroro Plush and Chibi Toys as Prizes

After a long hiatus, an exciting collaboration has been announced for the new film in the Keroro Gunci (Sgt. Frog) series. Namco has launched a special campaign in conjunction with “新劇場版☆ケロロ軍曹 復活して速攻地球滅亡の危機であります!” (New Theater Edition☆Keroro Gunci: Resurrection and Urgent Earth Annihilation Crisis!). The campaign will run until August 2nd at Namco entertainment centers across Japan and via Namco Online Crane.
Among the prizes offered within the campaign, the most notable is the large Keroro plush toy, approximately 60 cm in size. Additionally, chibi (miniature) versions of the series' beloved character Fuyuki will be distributed as prizes. These special items can only be won through Namco's own claw machines (UFO catcher) and online crane games.
Keroro Gunci is a manga series created by Mine Yoshizaki and published since 1999. The anime adaptation that began in 2004 comedically depicts the efforts of a group of clumsy alien frogs to take over Earth. The series gained a huge cult status especially in the 2000s. The new film, being the first cinematic release after a long hiatus, has excited fans. The film's plot revolves around Keroro and his team resurrecting somehow and trying to destroy Earth.
This collaboration with Namco offers fans the opportunity to acquire physical products related to the film. Especially the large Keroro plush is a must-have for collectors. Considering the campaign ends on August 2nd, those interested should head to Namco branches or the online crane service as soon as possible.
Such promotions are important both to win back old fans and attract new viewers. Although the film's release date has not yet been finalized, the Namco collaboration is seen as a sign that the film will be released soon. Long-time followers of the series will try to get these special products to celebrate Keroro's return.
