New Original Anime from MAPPA and Netflix: BEAT&MOTION Coming in 2027

BEAT&MOTION will be animated by master studio MAPPA and will meet audiences worldwide on Netflix in 2027. Based on Naoki Fujita's original work, the production is regarded as one of the studio's most ambitious projects to date.
The first teaser visual and trailer, along with the voice cast, have been announced. The lead roles are played by Shuichiro Umeda and Aya Gomasa. Umeda is known for his roles in productions such as The Apothecary Diaries and My Happy Marriage, while Gomasa stands out as a rising name in the industry.
MAPPA has made a name for itself in recent years with major productions such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and Chainsaw Man. The studio is also focusing on original projects; BEAT&MOTION is part of this strategy. The deal with Netflix will allow the production to reach a global audience.
While detailed information about the project's creator Naoki Fujita is not yet available, sources indicate that his anime will tell a dynamic story themed around "music and motion." The high-tempo scenes seen in the trailer and MAPPA's signature fluid animation have created great anticipation among fans.
The production is expected to release new trailers and character introductions in the period leading up to 2027. Although there is no specific release date yet, BEAT&MOTION seems to be an important milestone in MAPPA's partnership with Netflix. Especially for original anime fans, 2027 is already a year worth marking on the calendar.
