Kazuhiro Takamura's New Original Anime 'Vertex Force' Arrives in October!
Director Kazuhiro Takamura, the name behind popular series such as Strike Witches and Vividred Operation, will launch his new original anime project Vertex Force in October 2026. The main cast, a promotional video, and initial character details have been shared for this sci-fi battle action anime, produced by SMDE studio.
Kazuhiro Takamura is not only directing the Vertex Force project but also co-writing the script with Masashi Suzuki and handling the character designs himself. Other notable members of the team include assistant director Goro Kuji (Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise), mecha designers Kanetake Ebikawa (Mobile Suit Gundam 00) and JNTHED (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). Nobuaki Nobusawa is composing the music, while Hiroyuki Tadokoro is overseeing the CG direction. This strong team signals that the series will offer a visually impressive and dynamic experience.
The first character introduced for the anime is Haruka Todo, a cheerful and athletic 16-year-old high school student living in Okinawa. The teaser video shows Haruka fighting an unknown enemy using the power of advanced machines. Additionally, a child reaching for a beam of light in the depths of a vast ocean and a mecha figure named ENIA also draw attention. The second promotional visual features a mysterious woman and a mecha, along with the slogan "'The right answer' will destroy the world," suggesting that the story could be deep and thought-provoking.
